Getting the itch for a new handgun and do any of you have one of these and, if so, your thoughts on them?
I have a number of Ruger handguns and long guns from the late 70s and early 80s and love them. Some of the newer model rifles I handled left me disappointed. How are the newer model handguns?

I bought one a few years back, a 9 mm/38 special/357 magnum in stainless. I really like it, shoots well in all three calibers and the 9 mm cylinder indexes the cartridges so no moon clips like a double action revolver needs. Looks great too!

If you are on the fence go for it, you won’t be disappointed. I’ll probable add a 45acp/45lc version one of these days.

You answered another question I had about the need for half Moon clips for the 9mm. Much appreciated.

Most any Single Action revolver has a long lock time. A big part (hammer) moving a long distance. Long range accuracy will be less than stellar.

For a 50 yard and in plinker or field gun, they are hard to beat. If you are looking at a big bore, the Bisley model tends to be easier on the body. The grip handles recoil better, and the gun is pleasing to the eye as well. Even the low pressure 45 Colt has substantial recoil with the 255 gr bullet.

I have three Ruger convertibles, a 22/22m, a 9/357 and a 45acp/45 Colt. The 22 is the second most accurate revolver I own, the 357 is way better than the 9 cyl, and the 45 Colt shoots as well to 50 yards as my rifles 20 ga Mossberg.
I have the 22/22mag also and love it. Even though I have several 357s and a 9mm, that is the way I want to go. Just love the caliber and the versitility.

I have the 9mm/357 combo and love it. Mine has the 6 1/2" barrel and is quite accurate. I did put a spring kit in it to lower the pull weight and I would recommend doing it as it certainly helped with accuracy. I shoot mainly 38 Special plinking loads (Red Dot and cast bullets) through it but every once in a while I get the urge for some powerful 357 loads and this gun handles them just fine. I shoot mainly 125 gr. TC cast bullets in the 9mm because I have a cheap source for them. Probably not quite as accurate as my 38 Special loads but still acceptable and cheap to shoot. Go and buy it. You'll be glad you did.
