I've come across both for sale at the same price of $500.00 each. Both trap models, and in vg to excl. condition. I'm looking for a first trap gun and these seem to be a good deal. From what I've read they're the same gun. What do you guys think? is that a good price.and which one would you buy.

I have both in the field model. They are identical, the AL2 was imported by Garcia, but they ran into financial trouble. The A300, A301, A302, and A303 were imported by Beretta. Very solid guns, quite reliable, and easy to clean. Almost all parts are interchangeable, but the A302 and A303 have a slightly different trigger, but are interchangeable. The operating rod for the AL2 and A301 are the same and work with all models. But the A302 and A303 rod is different and won't work on the earlier guns. To add to the mix, the Browning B80 is the same gun as the A303 internally, but the Browning reciever and wood are shapped differently. All barrels interchange.

The $500 price is reasonable for a Trap version, get the one that looks and feels the best to you. Great guns, you will love it! Wally Riebesell is a vendor on this site, and is a true expert on these guns. He is a great source of information and has a good inventory of parts at reasonable prices.

I have an AL-2 with a drop in choke that I use for trap or whatever. She’s light and I love re-familiarizing myself with her softness. All the girls in my safe get a chance to spit fire and she loves the fresh air.

Good buy at $500.00 esp. for the 301. The 300 series Beretta autos are great guns. But then again I bought a 303 Special Trap NIB in the mid 90's for $550.00. It was the last gun sold out of one of my favorite gun shops in Davenport that I still have.

Thanks guys, I have contacted the sellers and haven't got a response back yet, I want more detailed pics and would like to talk to seller, I like the A301, suppose to be a Special Trap model.

Buy them both - seems like a great price. I don't believe the Trap stocks are adjustable, but if you find you need adjustment, you can find a used field stock and a couple of the shim washers and adjust the fit in that manner. I just did that and it was an easy process.
