By 'hunting dot' do you mean single dot in the center of the cross hairs??

Do you want this to be illuminated??

Price range??... Power (range) desired?? Tube diameter??

For best quality to value, look for a Zeiss Terra 3X (I have two - wish I had more)

Others to look at - Vortex (has been getting great reviews of late). Meopta too.

A bit 'up scale' - Trijicon's hunting scopes (I own four of these)

I have several Leupold scopes with dot reticles of different diameters and will caution you about using dot reticles in hunting conditions. Unless you go with a large dot, you will have problems finding it in dark environments and then you lose the aiming precision a dot is intended to provide. They are best used for precision target shooting. Even Leupold's "fine duplex" reticle can be challenging to use in a thick wooded area - the standard duplex is far easier to use as it can always be "found."
