Was at my local Walmart today and see that they now carry Estate Cartridge Super Sport Competition Target Loads in 100 round packs for $21.48. 2 3/4 inch, 12 gauge, 1250 fps 1 1/8 oz of 7 1/2's or 2 3/4 inch, 12 gauge, 1290 fps 1 oz of 7 1/2's. Haven't tried them yet, but at this price for a HDCP load, couldn't pass up a few 100 round packs. Anybody tried them lately?

I bought 5- 100 packs and had an average of 4-5 misfires on each 100 in my pile driving firing pin Ljutic Dynokic. Like the price but hard to shoot a good score with that staring at me. They were all the "sunken" primer shells that come from Estate and Federal.

I as well bought 6 sleeves( Still have 3 in my trunk) of these shells and maybe averaged 1 shell per box misfire, a couple of boxes had two misfires. Apparently the primer was set to deep or so I though. However, I measured depth with a dial indicator and they were OK, or I didn't see any big difference from other shells. So, I cut them open, no problem with the components. My Ljutic Dynokic makes a solid smack on any primer. I mean every primer it's ever hit (big dent). But in the case of these misfires there was barely a dent in the primer face. I don't know why, any suggestions? Hard metal? Something in the primer that's solidified? Now, the shells that worked, turned targets to dust from the 27.

I had one estate shell about 2 years ago slip past my ejector somehow, but that's the only issue I have ever had with them. Other than the normal ones don't seem to have a clean burn and leave a ton of fouling in my barrels. I would assume the hotter loaded HDCP loads wouldn't have the same issue.
For the price I may pick some up for handicap practice. I just can't leave my reloads or Nitro 27's for registered caps. Personal preference.
