Just received a Citori Trap with an after market Graco adjustable comb through an online auction. The gun was manufactured in 1987, not sure when the comb was done. The stud nuts are frozen in place with epoxy(?). Lateral adjustment of the comb isn't possible. Please look at the pictures. Can anyone tell me how the brass inserts attach to the stock? I'd like to free up the inserts and, if possible, counter sink them further to allow flush fit of the comb to the stock. All opinions welcome. Photos or diagrams of this hardware would be helpful.

That's not Graco hardware. It was done by someone that owned a bandsaw and wasn't afraid to use it, unfortunately. The brass bases are likely epoxied in place, so you'll need to use heat to remove. A butane soldering iron works well. It looks like the front base may be too far forward and the installer may have drilled through the bolt hole. This would explain why the bases are raised. I'd just fill and start over.

Thanks, I defer to you infinite wisdom. The gun came with a little bag that had the two allen wrenches and extra holding pins, it was made by Graco. That is, there was a cardboard label in the bag. Any idea of the manufacturer?

It's not graco hardware. Someone did this along time ago. First you need to remove the hardware and then we can help you better. You might not like this but it's probably the best approach. Use a propane torch. First Install the posts back onto the brass discs. Heat the posts until there smoking this will break down the epoxy and you can wiggle them out with a set of pliers or vise grips. After you have the hardware out then you can measure and take pictures. Replacement hardware of the proper diameter may be available you can try SPS a vendor on here. Just post the info and ask Benchrest.

Gun fitter has it right. Fire up the torch. If you burn the stock, it's just a Browning . I have 7/8 or 1" round comb adjusters. Just don't use epoxy to re install them. Joe
That looks like it was done on the tailgate of a pick up truck.

Just a Browning?
I think the point is that Browning Citori replacement stocks are listed for $124 on Brownells website whereas P,K guns stocks start at $1000

If you haven't yet purchased this, the work necessary on the stock, or replacement, should give you some negotiating room.

If you think you want to move the comb down, you can also have the top of the comb shaved and re-radiused
