I will be staying at Casino Del Sol for the Spring Grand at Tucson next month. The resort is tribal land, I believe, and so Arizona state law doesn't apply when it comes to firearms. Does anyone know their firearm policy regarding long guns and handguns? Have already contacted Arizona Highway Patrol. They said contact the tribe directly for their policies/laws. I'm unable to find out what tribe to contact. Front desk no help.

Prairiedog, And your question is? I assume you are asking if you can take your gun to your room. Dozens of Trapshooters staying there and have been for years. Don't walk in with it over your shoulder and you will be fine. Don't leave it in your vehicle.

Okay, long gun in case is no problem then. Arizona concealed carry website says CC on tribal land governed by whoever owns it. Most of them it is a felony to CC on tribal land without permission. Any one know the rules on CC at Casino Del Sol property.

l have CC'd there several times while donating$$$$$. As of last February there were no signs or metal detecting devices there.. The only place l was asked not not go armed was Whole Foods on Speedway blvd. I utilized banks, casino's. Wal-Marts, and grocery stores.

I'll be staying there during the Armed Services Skeet championships in May, but other than maybe the first night, my gun stays at the club. I have a buddy with a camper, and it stays with him.

Same thing at the World Shoot in San Antonio, our guns rarely leave the club, usually with one o four friends at their RV.

I assume you are talking long guns. I have someone there who has offered to secure my shotgun at the gun club. I believe I'll take him up on that.

Tribal website with links to departments. PASCUA YAQUI TRIBE
Thanks. That was exactly what I was looking for. Not only is open/concealed carry not permitted, but just having it in a means of transportation is also a crime. So no leaving it secured in the car in a locked case that is secured to the vehicle's frame.

Is it a Federal crime to carry there? If not, I wouldn't worry about it. It is called "concealed" not display my gun for everyone to see. No one will know you have it, if you do it properly. I carry everyday in places that are "not permitted" never give a second thought about it.

I have never understood why people get so worked up about this issue. I have never been questioned, or thrown out of a place for having my gun, because no one knows I have it. If you have to use it, that little violation will be the least of your worries.

About three years ago during the spring grand I stayed at the Desert Diamond which is also on tribal ground. I made the mistake of asking about their policy hoping there was a secure place I could leave it. They told me guns were prohibited in the hotel because of restrictions in their gaming license. I had to leave my gun in my car which I think is the worst of all possible places. Since then I follow the rule of "don't ask, don't tell." But remember that lots of people have keys to your hotel room. If your gun is stolen, how are you going to make a claim for contraband that was stolen from your room.
I went to Nashville for the Okoboji Indian shoot two weeks after the massacre in Las Vegas and stayed in a Mariott. There was only one way in and out and I had to walk by hotel personnel at the front desk each day with my cased gun. They never inquired, but several hotel guests did in the elevator. I told them it was musical instruments.
I worry that this will become a serious problem.

We were at the Fall Grand and stayed at Casino Del Sol. The only thing that is different with regard to long guns is that they must be in a case and no casino employee may touch the case. The bellman took the luggage and escorted my wife to the room. I parked the truck and carried my shotgun to the room since it cannot be on the bellman's baggage cart . If you are getting a shooters rate room, you will be given a letter outlineing the casino's policy as you check in. Regarding handguns on the Reservation, sorry don't have a clue.

I have never been asked a thing when I carried my obvious shotgun in a soft case into the Casino Del Sol. Other trap shooters might give you a nod, but that’s about it.
