Beretta 682 Stock Question

A new shooter at my Club bought a Beretta 682 Gold E and needs a trap stock with adjustable comb plus some kind of recoil reduction.

Before he starts cutting up his nice stock, will any other Beretta model stocks fit the 682? A used stock with all the goodies already on it would be perfect.

Any 680 series stock should fit....680;682;686;687; etc.

Does it already have a trap stock or is this a sporting model? If this is a sporter I don't think he will be happy with the results of adding a trap stock. There will be a huge gap between the mid and front beads.

Need to see if it’s a wide frame or narrow frame 682. Those are the ultralight 687 can be either. Some will fit and some won’t.

His 682 is a Sporting Model - if the new stock has adjustable comb and butt, it should be OK, right?

How do you determine a wide or narrow frame??

The 682 Gold E was never available on a wide frame.

Coles has a great reference on how to measure it. Just google the question and click their link. That’s what worked for me.

With the comb in its lowest position he will see a vertical gap between the front & mid beads (don't ask me how I know).
He may be okay with that but the gun will shoot high. I would say the best bet is to buy a trap gun.

How about a Precision Fit Stock?

If not, I agree about looking for Trap 682 that has what he wants or making it just right and sell the Sporter rather than cut up the Sporter stock to sort of make it a Trap gun.

Beretta made a number stocks with different comb heights. Best if he can try before he buys. I put a Monte Carlo stock on a sporting gun it fit good and shot flat. It was a lower comb then on my doubles gun.

There is also a more than decent chance the stock will need to be fit to the action. It might not even slide all the way on, and even if it does, it needs to be checked for fit by someone who knows what they're doing so the stock doesn't get damaged or fail.

Used PFS will be easier to find. I went through that on Barb's gun.

This a little off the topic but does Beretta offer an adjustable comb on anything other that the top of there line?
I saw a picture of an 686 SP1 with a comb - is it an option from the factory?

see if you can locate a 682 gold E skeet stock they came with adjustable combs.

I shoot a Gold E Trap and fitted a set of sporting flat rib barrels to it. With Monte Carlo adj comb all the way down there was tons of rib between the beads. I made a new shorter comb to use with those barrels for sporting clays and skeet. Maybe consider having an adj parallel comb made for the gun?
