I also would like to know how they are. Also is Soft Touch better recoils system or no?
They are different animals. A RAD/Bump Buster/Countercoil are all good systems and some do have some functionality that the soft touch doesnt, like LOP adjustment.

The comb on a soft touch never moves and the new magnate ones are nice that keep it from collapsing prematurely. The ones I first mentioned, and like George just mentioned are great deals when you compare the cost of a soft touch and other system. You need to shoot both to really know whether you like it or not because if you go through with it and don't like it, now stock has been modified.

I've got a RAD IIa on my Beretta 682. Works great. I can shoot 1-1/8oz loads all day long and not feel any worse for the wear. It is also very easy to adjust.

A couple features I like on the RAD are that it is easy to adjust the LOP and adjust the damping on the recoil device part of it.

The Soft Touch is definitely worth the money and as with any type of recoil unit they have their strong and weak points.
With the Soft Touch you have to ad spacers for LOP adjustment and different types of springs to get the damping that you want and many like the magnetic soft touch adjustment for those who like to mount the gun hard ect.

As mentioned above try them if you can--really you are not going to go wrong with either that is for sure.

I just bought a Seitz w/a Seitz style Soft Touch. I was very surprised at how much less fatigue I had after shooting. Wish I had done it yrs. ago. At 71, recoil will finally wear you down. I shot a 100 practice and could have shot another 200.

I do like it better than the soft touch but honestly they are both great systems especially now that soft touch offers the magnet set up to keep the stock from prematurely collapsing, like a prosoft or stock lock.

If you have a stock that you like already it's a little north of $1000 to get a soft touch installed. The Prosoft is $3250 without a forearm so they aren't cheap but after shooting one that's what I want to go with.

I had a RAD 2.a. installed on my XT about 6 months ago. I've never had any issues (other than having to locktite the screws as they kept coming loose) and its nice having the adjustablity. The only thing that bugged me after I had it installed was that it made my gun shoot higher. Really really high. I had an adjustable comb installed by Tom Larkin and that fixed the problems. Great system, highly recommended.

I have used Soft Touch recoil systems for several years. I have purchased three guns and have had a soft touch system put on each one. I have never shot any other kind so I cannot give an honest opinion of the competitors units. I do know I have been very happy with what I have and Beth and the boys go out of their way to make sure you get what you want.

I have the Rad2 and the Soft Touch an can't say much negative about either. To me the Soft Touch is a much nicer system as far as recoil reduction with no problems in approx. 4 yrs of use.As stated above give em a try if possible. As you probably already know the ST will cost about twice as much as Rad2 if not more but still my favorite. Good Luck !!!!!

This is quite the investment in a gun improvement-

Two thoughts-
Forget the money- it seems it seems one of these quality recoil reducers are absolves if money wasn't a factor?

Do they payback on resale?

It would seem you ought to be sure this is your "go to" gun spending over a grand ...

Boy, a lot of options to take the $750 soft touch the well over 1000

I have RAD ll's on both of my Trap Guns.
Keith Heeg did the installations and I love them
both. Can't feel any difference between my 1250 fps
loads and my 1150 loads. The RAD really sucks up
the bump! It's adjust ability is as good as it gets too.

I have and have installed both the RAD and the Counter coils. Counter coils being strictly hydraulic and RAD being a hybrid hydraulic and spring. Both collapse about 1/4 " during recoil. The machining and adjustability of the RAD are definitely points for that system. The RAD 2a is the one I prefer. It adjusts for LOP height of pad and toe in or out quickly and easily. I personally don't have a problem with the comb moving under my face during recoil but if that is a concern the soft touch is the next level of reducer. Right now I would have to say I prefer the RAD.
