Is there anyone using this? What is your opinion?
It costs me a whole 2 dollars less than Green Dot. $120.00 vs $122.00Does it do anything better or cheaper than Green Dot ?
Jim,Have seen it---have not tried it. Because I don't know, IS THERE LOAD DATA FOR IT AND HOW DOES IT COMPARE WITH POSTED LOADS OF GREEN DOT???
Are we advised to use different bushings??
James,For What it is worth, you should be aware of a potential problem. I have purchased six 14 oz containers marked made in Canada, but cannot get consistent drop weights. Sometimes as much as 1 grain difference! Yep one grain not one tenth. Since I purchased this over a year ago and am the one that removed the seals I know it is the uncontaminated. It seems to clump. I have shaken the container as per Hodgdons suggestion. I cleaned out my old 800-B and dropped clay dot +/- .2 so I think the press is on spec. Using Redding beam scales and Dillon electronic scales together for measurement. I really like the handicap long yardage performance at 1200fps+, but must get consistency. Any thoughts on this problem? I understand over the powder shortage several manufacturing locations have been involved.

Honestly,Polo,
I agree with you that powder varies from lot to lot but doesn't 1 grain seem like quite a bit? I load quite a bit of Promo, which is known for lot to lot variation, and I don't think I've ever seen 1 grain difference when switching lots. I weigh not only when switching lots but every time I start a loading session. It's a double check that I didn't forget about something I did and tells me when the press has settled in to a steady state so that I can start cranking out shells.
I am getting new 700x from Hodgdon's and will see if I get the variations as from the older 1# canisters. I'll bet it was just packaged damp as the seals were in place. Mike at Hodgdon's has been very helpful, so I believe this will be a quick fix.James,
Today pretty much all powders are going to vary from lot to lot, bottle to bottle.
This is why you MUST weigh every new bottle of powder in order to set your drop weights.
You are correct, they change!

My exact feelings ! Tried many others and always come back to Green Dot.As always, good advice from mg1polo. As for me, I've been shooting Green Dot and Red dot for over 50 years and have never been disappointed in the performance of either so I have no reason to change. I've experimented with other powders along the way and always came back to GD and RD. The difference in cost is almost impossible to relate. Bill
