My son just inherited a Mossberg 500 20 gauge with 3 removable chokes from his father-in-law.
One of the chokes (suspect after market) has 3 notches on the business end of the choke and the other has 4 notches.
There is no other indication on the chokes as to which is MOD and which is IC.
Other chokes I have seen have the constriction marked on the side.

Appreciate any info regarding this subject.
Local Bass Pro Shop gun guys couldn't answer the question.

Thanks, Sid

Browning Invectors including Invector Plus are marked as follows:

one notch - full

two notches - imp. mod.

three notches - mod.

four notches - imp. cyl.

five notches - skeet

The marks on the end of Browning tubes allows a shooter to idnentify which choke is in the gun with a glance. Flush chokes marked on the side must be removed from the gun to identify.
