I did buy the new Fabarm Axis RS 12 Trap combo with the Free Float O/U barrels with tri-wood, and absolutely love it. I had the gun for 5 days , have 7 - 25's out of it, including 100 straight at 16yds. Shot my best doubles score of 95. Gun works great, no problems at all. Great trigger. Pics coming soon.

Great looking gun but what is tri-wood?
The TRIWOOD™ finish, introduced by FABARM in 2002 in a hi-tec process to improve the walnut grains and to warranty a perfect waterproof protection.
TRIWOOD maintains also the warmth and feel of wood, all stocks are different.
The walnut quality, its contrast, its grade are extremely important to obtain a perfect TRIWOOD stock. The key point is to have a perfect the mix between the original and additional grains.
TRIWOOD is not a film fixed on the walnut; its a process to deposit ink on a piece of wood.
The TRIWOOD stock is protected by a tough scratch – resistant semi gloss acrylic varnish.

Hello: I appreciate you listing what the Triwood finish is. I was told it is a film covering. Great to hear it is just a ink finishing process to bring out the grain of the wood. I will be looking at one as soon as I can get my hands on one. Thanks, Eric

In the June issue of Sporting Clays magazine columnist Nick Sisley reviewing the Fabarms Axis RS12 FB Sported writes:
"As with last years Axis, this one comes with Triwood, a film that is laid over the wood. The resulting looks I call a $4,000 piece of walnut."

It sure looks to me to be a lot like the film that Beretta was putting on their stocks which they called "Extra Wood." (which they discontinued )
