So I have a Browning Citori "Lightning Sporting Clays" edition. Its 30", and has the high rib.. Love the gun and works great for me.

I did lots of research and everywhere I read said they stopped producing this gun in 04, but my serial number has a "MT", which would make it a 06, as long as I am understanding browning dating procedure correctly...

So can anyone tell me if this gun is a 2006 model and if they even made it then. Any other info on this gun would be appreciated as well.

Thanks

I believe those guns were non-cataloged in 2004, but dealers could still order them for a few more years. It's the same action as a Citori Lightning, with a different pistol grip, gold scroll, and choice of hi or low ribs.

It also has the changeable/adjustable triple trigger system, if that helps. Not sure what year browning came out with that and when they started to put them on this model.

Thanks, its cool to find out my gun is way newer than I expected.

Not sure if you bought it new or slightly used, but it may be the Guns Unlimited edition that is made for them still in 30"-32" barrel versions. I am tempted to get the .410 everytime I see any of those guns......yours looks great!

Thanks for the compliment I love this gun!

I purchased it slightly used. It was like new when I found it on the rack at Gander Mountain, and I know they sold these guns, but they Store Manager said they only had them until 2004 tops. Thats why I started this thread because I have not found or seen another 2006 made one anywhere. 2004 is the latest models I have found.

So Guns Unlimited had a later special run? and they still carry it today? I will check on that.
Thanks, thats what I am looking, for some more Information..
