I have shot a few dove in the last 20 years, including six thousand in four days back in 2009, there are many more on here who have been on a trip to SA that will probally agree with me. IC/Mod is hard to beat for an oU. I have a 12 ga browning ou that is choked skeet/IC that will kill one way out if you point it in the right spot

I am going to say that the shell might matter more than the choke, a good premium load in 71/2 or 8 will help alot, those el cheapo dove loads will kill one but not as good. try a comparison sometime

Doves are all ammo makers favorite game bird. It must be second only to the CLAY Pigeon but are more fun and better eating. I agree with Trap MD that the 28 gauge is the sweetest Dove gun you can shoot. I sold my Browning Citori 28 ga. to a dear friend who gave me that sad puppy dog eyes look. I had no problems with IC and M fixed chokes out of 26" tubes. I will have to find another to replace it soon. My friend has passed on but his wife still shoots it, hunting Doves.
