The guy that went into the Christian center in To shoot people in DC represented gays and transexuals, was charged with as a terrorist, instead with a hate crime?
The Christian center recently supported Chick Fil A, is against abortion and supports most conservative/Christian values.
I wonder if the situation was reversed, white non gay guy goes in to a gay support group with a gun, do you think he would have charged as a terrorist or with a hate crime?
Now did ABC go to check if this guy was a member of Acorn, like they sought to connect the theater shooter to the Tea Party?
Rick,
So was the Sikh Temple shooter. He was a Skin Head, White Supremacist!
Thing is, I never heard anyone bring up what political affiliation this individual may have supported.
Still think a Revolution is 75 years away? Jon
Didn't he support the NAZI's???? National Socialists?
Your right, why wasn't he charged with a hate crime???
What is a hate crime the opposite of a love crime?
On the order of a drug deal gone bad, under out laws aren't all drug deals already bad?
The guy had 15 Chick-Fil-A sandwiches in his back pack. I would wager he was loitering for an opportunity there too.
He was a LBGT volunteer and haated the christian group for believing in traditional marriage.
I would like to be his judge.
HM
Maybe he liked the sandwiches, but did not agree with their views. LOL
Guess I am confused about what the difference is between a hate crime vs an act of terrorism.
I'm an Arby's type of guy myself.
I think they both are a matter of Federal investigation, but I think the Terrorist charges are more severe, and thorough. Also, if they are involved in an organization, and not just an individual acting on his own thoughts makes a difference.
"Hate Crime" charge will get you all the support from the Progressive left and NAACP and propaganda machine called the Press.
"Terrorist" charge will be over looked by the same! The Press will say WE/They deserved what they got, The Progressive left will say we/they had it coming because of How we/they treated them.
Remember the "Pact" the alphabet media took on "airing" the Twin Towers video's??
Went something like: The American People "can't" handle seeing it over and over!!
NOW lets see, Trayon Martin,Colorado shootings, Cathy Giffords shooting,Colunbine, etc, Those don't stop them from a deluge of a constantly "upchucking" over and over and over.....
He's just your average, garden variety communist pinko hate monger. They're all that way, but the cowards in the mainstream media are communist pinko hate mongers, too, so stories like this one just go into File 13 down at the Libville Liar because that really aren't news, are they?
I am not confused about the differences, see the definitions below. What I am confused about is the current application of either. But then again.......could be just politics as usual. Fort Hood shooting declared hate crime. Aurora and Christian center shootings declared domestic terrorism. Sounds reversed to me.
Hate Crime
A Hate Crime is an intentional, deliberate, and methodically-charged crime executed in order to cause harm or damage with regard to a specific victim chosen as a result of prejudice, racism, bias, and unlawful resentment.
Domestic terrorism:
According to a memo produced by the FBI's Terrorist Research and Analytical Center in 1994, domestic terrorism was defined as "the unlawful use of force or violence, committed by a group(s) of two or more individuals, against persons or property to intimidate or coerce a government, the civilian population, or any segment thereof, in furtherance of political or social objectives."
[2] Under current United States law, set forth in the USA PATRIOT Act, acts of domestic terrorism are those which: "(A) involve acts dangerous to human life that are a violation of the criminal laws of the United States or of any State; (B) appear to be intended— (i) to intimidate or coerce a civilian population; (ii) to influence the policy of a government by intimidation or coercion; or (iii) to affect the conduct of a government by mass destruction, assassination, or kidnapping; and (C) occur primarily within the territorial jurisdiction of the United States."[3]
