From any of your experiences, what is the best jig to buy to size and shape a new recoil pad to stocks.. I have seen a few videos on the web but was wondering what experiences anyone has had with the different ones.. Thanks for any info..

The B&R Jig is probably the best. Hard to find them now though.

I prefer using the miles-gilbert on my disc sander.

I find the hanging jig to be more reliable and safer, the recoil pad mounting part of this jig was made by me to handle any hole spacing as it has dove tailed nuts that can adjusted out to a max of 3 5/8" I also use this jig to grind aluminum adjustable plates or spacers.

Find one like the photo below. You scribe the outline on the pad, mount the pad on the jig with the stock side up and grind till the line is gone.

A belt sander on a stand will work better than a disc sander because it will run cooler. This is especially important when grinding KickEez pads.

The Graco one Midway USA sells is excellent.

I use the one from Graco also. It's quick and easy and lets you produce a good fit without a lot of headaches. I cut the pad with a bandsaw first and then clean it up with the disc sander. This works especially well on the KickEez pads.

I prefer the B&R as mentioned above because it puts the correct angle all around the pad, but you have to adjust it correctly.

I have also used the B Square model too, but still prefer the B&R.

Unfortunately B&R has changed their materials and now uses a much smaller diameter hook which can vibrate. I have an older, more solid B&R mounted to my large disc sander, but also have the newer model. I never use the newer model.
