FS Winchester Model 42. This little 42 has 26" full choked barrel and retains most of it's original finish. The stock has had a repair near top tang. A great little gun. PM or email for more photos. $1395 shipped to your FFL.
is that rust on the left hand of the reciever not where it ejects the other side or is it the picture from the stone? interested
It is not rust. The blueing does show some light freckling. I can send you more photos if you would like.

As mentioned, the receiver blue has some freckles. There is no rust evident. The receiver is smooth to the touch and no pitting is seen. Could have been wet at some time in its' life and that might have caused the freckling. It is what it is and you can decide based on what you see. I'm describing the gun to the best of my knowledge.
For this price, "freckles" or not, this is a great buy on a 42. I am surprised that it has not sold yet, so UP........................
What caused the freckles? Not sure I've ever heard this term in reference to guns before. How does freckling occur and is it advantageous to have on shotguns?
