I'm looking for a gunsmith to do some work on my Browning shotgun in the north Atlanta metro area. Needless to say, I am only interested in dealing with a professional gunsmith with a lot of experience who is a true craftsman. Any and all referrals would be appreciated.

Sometimes and in fact most times- it is better to just send it off to someone that specializes in Brownings if you have something in particular in mind that you want done
Once you figure in your gas and travel time it usually ends up cheaper also
Just a thought if you dont find the "person"

Send it to Art's Gun Shop or MidWest Gun Works. Both are in Missouri. With either you will get a professional job.
Good point Gene. I will consider shipping if I can't find a good local gunsmith.
If I can find someone in my area, that would be my preference.
If you ever get up around Greenville, SC these are your guys.
Ron & Ronnie Cox 864-288-3238. They are in Simpsonville, SC and they are the best.
They can do custom stock work, bluing, any mechanical work. This is where the folks around here that shoot K guns, P guns, whatever take their work to.
Ronnie is in the SC Trapshooters Hall Of Fame, so he knows what is what on a fine shotgun. No one works on any of my shotguns or rifles except these guys.
what about chucks in buckhead?

Chuck's is an option. Not too far from where I work.

If you go to Chucks......bring 2 checks.....one won't be enough.
Very overpriced.
I know, Chuck's is very expensive, like everything else in Buckhead. That's why I'm trying find someone north of the city.

What kind of work are you needing done, barrel, chokes, forcing cones, trigger, stock?
For now I just need an action cleaning/lube and replacement of the recoil pad. Possibly some additional work in the future.
Chuck will send you to the guy in Sandy Springs and he can do what you want done. I don't have his name in front of me but if you haven't got it from others message me and I will send it to you. I had him work on SO's and K guns and he does good work.
