Hopefully even Mitt can't screw this up.....
Republicans are trying their hardest to screw it up by nominating Romney in the first place.
The $40 Obama grill spatulas are hilarious. I wonder if they're made in the USA?
That editorial was by Maureen Dowd about as liberal a Kool Aid drinker as there was. I might have preferred someone else but Romney is so much better than the incompetent, unqualified, un-American idiot we have it isn't even close. For heavens sake get out and vote for Romney, if Obama gets back in the country is finished, pure and simple.
Brian, Romney wasn't my first choice either, but get your panties out of a wad!! A vote for Obuthead is a CERTAIN vote for gun control ( and a lot more bad stuff), and vote for anyone but Romney is a vote for him. I'm more pro-gun than you can ever hope to be ( my livelihood depends on the second amendment) and I'm voting for Romney. He's a smart man and we can educate him. We have no chance of talking reason to Obama. Please listen to yourself! Your rants are serving to do nothing but to cause a lot of people to turn you off, and you do too much good on here to suffer that fate. I've got your back!
Ken Rucker
Ah, more name calling and belittlement of those who do not think or vote as you demand. That seems to be a common trait amongst several people here. You really think that's a sure fire way to convince anyone of the merits of your arguments?
And claiming you are more pro-gun than others? Give me a break. That's a pretty wild claim to be making, and it does absolutely nothing to prove whether your argument has merit or not. In fact, some of the worst anti-gunners we had in our local area were gunsmiths and stock makers, NRA members all, who the media would trot out as their lapdogs every time a gun ban or restrictive law was being debated. And I recall a trap vendor on this very site who went from shoot to shoot with his supply and work trailer, yet posted so many statements about how a lot of guns should be banned that he wound up with a boycott backlash by several members here and left in frustration. So simply making a living off of guns means little in determining how pro-gun one is or is not.
The only way to "educate" Romney is by political blackmail. He has to be forced into seeing that his anti-gun stance is extremely unpopular with a core segment of conservatives, and the only way this can be done is to not vote for him, causing him to narrowly squeak by. Of course, that carries the risk he will lose, but that's the risk Republicans as a whole took when they decided several issues did not matter to many conservatives, especially those supporting the tea party. The worst thing is for Romney to win in a landslide, because he will see that as confirmation that banning guns is without political penalties.
The real question to be asked is" If our vote is SO important now to Republican success, why weren't our concerns and requests important to Republicans then?
Votes have a price. They are not free for the taking. The price was not paid and the votes are now being withheld. Does that REALLY surprise anyone, especially after the McCain debacle? That should have been a wake up call. I can see it infuriating them, but the infuriation should be directed at those who did not have the foresight of seeing this coming, as they blithely figured tired, worn out arguments like "the lesser of two evils" is enough to push THEIR nominee.
I'm sorry to be sounding harsh on this, but I'm getting a lot of harsh being dumped on me simply because I'm not voting as others demand I vote.
I'm not demanding you do anything. I tried to give some constructive criticism and I certainly didn't do any name calling! I give up. You are consumed by your paranoia.
Ken
An important thing to remember is that when a individual is living in the "Twilight Zone"...they don't know it.

What also seems to keep being overlooked is gaining 60 seats in the Senate. Conservative control,,,,,and I don't mean McConnell,,,,,is needed as much as the presidency......
Brian,,,,,excellent points,,,,,,the "establishment" R's just figure that conservatives will just "go along" with the masses,,,,,or getting consensus,,,,,
"Ultimately a genuine leader is not a searcher for consensus but a molder of consensus",,,,,,But it is not consensus is NOT what we need now here or in the world,,,,,leadership,,,,,but can mittens deliver,,,,,we will see,,,,or we will be done......
Ken, you posted, "get your panties out of a wad!!" and "rant", and now "paranoia". That's not "constructive criticism" in any book. It is deliberate name calling and belittlement. It's right there in black and white for everyone to see. At least be honest enough to acknowledge what you posted
.
bigdogtx, Romney has "reached across the aisle" far too much with Democrats. If he wants to try to salvage conservative and tea party votes, he needs to "reach across the aisle" to the right and tap someone who is a rock solid conservative and preferably a staunch pro-gunner if he wants to salvage the situation.
Frankly, I think Romney is too liberal to do that, and after listening to him brag about banning guns even after the tossed his hat into the ring, I think he's too arrogant as well. He will probably tap someone who shares the same liberal mindset he has.
If so, he will in effect be saying he values liberals votes more than he values conservative votes. Though he may be naive enough to also think that conservatives and gun owners will blindly line up behind him. Problem for him is those days are gone, and McLame was the straw that broke the camel's back on that issue.
That's a stretch , Brian. Didn't mean to offend you. Sorry I said anything at all.
Ken
I've always felt that if enough people voted for a third party candidate a loud and clear message would be received in Washington and have voted accoringly. This election year is different! Any vote cast for other than Romney, or simply not voting at all will help Obama. I'll not let my vote be used for anything but defeating our current leader in shame.
Robert
Robert, good, vote your conscience. That's what everyone should do. I know I am.
Brian is a single issue voter, he has told us that, ad nauseum, over the past 12 years, that is his right.
So if there was such a thing as pro-gun candidate, that wanted to raise taxes, allow abortions on demand, socialized medicine, and a nuetered military, he would be preferable over Romney.
Robert, totally agree,,,,,it is very sad as I also agree with BIO,,,,,I am just afraid if I stand as I want to with Brian,,,,,we end up with 4 more years with someone who is out to destroy our way of life in this country
Rusty,,,,it could also be said "that wanted to raise taxes, allow abortions on demand, socialized medicine, and a nuetered military, he would be preferable over Romney",,,,could be Romney himself at one time or another......
bigdogtx, don't sweat not standing with me. I don't care if no one stands with me. I only want people to make an informed choice and make their own decision, free from malignant peer pressure. Voting for Romney because you want to checkmate Obama, that's a viable political gambit. It's simply one that my conscience can no longer support, because the person I'm being asked to support has very little in common with me.
The Center for Disease Control has issued a warning about a new virulent strain of this old disease. The disease is called "Gonorrhea Lectim." It's pronounced "Gonna re-elect em" and it is a terrible obamanation. The disease is contracted through dangerous and high risk behavior involving putting your cranium up your rectum. Many victims contracted it in 2008. But nowmost people, after having been infected for the past 1-3 years, are starting to realize how destructive this sickness is. It's sad because Gonorrhea Lectim is easily cured with a new drug just coming on the market called Votemout. You take the first dose now and the second dose in Nov. 2012 and simply don't engage in such behavior again; otherwise, it could become permanent and eventually wipe out all life as we know it.. This disease first showed up on the African continent and was next detected in the Pacific Islands. Some say it passed through Indonesia (not proven) but years later showed up on the east coast of the United States near two Ivy league schools. Research on this is very slow due to government reluctance to provide funds that might shed light on where it really did originate. You may want to pass this important message on to all those bright folks you really care about.
A vote for a third party is a wasted vote that will only make a statement for yourself. We got Bill Clinton with %43 of the vote only because Ross Perot sucked off votes that would have been republican had he chose not to run.

Remember the guy that claimed the book 'Love Story' was written about him? He's the same clown claiming to have invented the internet. In more recent year's he's made a fortune pimping another of his inventions - global warming.
The country very nearly elected that dipsh!t in 2000. Fortunately, an even bigger dipsh!t (Ralph Nader) ran and sucked off enough votes in critical places like Florida for "W" to squeak thru.
Without doubt "W" had his share of faults and failings but who could argue with a straight face that algore would have been a better president? That said, following is a draft of the letter I'll be mailing this afternoon.
-----
Dear Mr. Nader:
I'm a BIG fan of yours. I just wanted to write to say, "Thanks for all your contributions to society". Would you PLEASE consider running for prez again this November?
Sincerely,

Single issue voters do zero harm to either ticket. They are a wash as there are simply too few that vote with those extreme emotions. This election is about a many things more important than gun control. If socialism is allowed to further infect this society gun control will be how well you handle your weapon. Things are headed to the sewer fast and if a person wants to let that happen ahead of a single issue they need a reality check. This will be a process and won't happen in one election. Congress is where the gun control issue is really a by-product of communist congressmen not a president. Conservatives need to take over the senate way more than we need to worry about a preident who is moderate.
"We got Bill Clinton with %43 of the vote only because Ross Perot sucked off votes that would have been republican had he chose not to run. "
We also had a lot of gunowner defections from the GOP because Bush turned out to be a gun banner. Frankly there was not one whit of difference between Bush and Clinton in this respect.
-----
BAD303, the Second Amendment may be way down on the list of priorities for a lot of Republicans, but there are still a lot of hard core pro-gunners who will not tolerate a gun banner in any way, shape or form. The blame rests with those who decided that our views did not matter, and that we'd have no choice but to back their play. Big mistake. Republicans had their clear warning with McCain's loss that business as usual - the lesser of two evils - would not longer work. Yet Republicans as a whole have now decided what we need is a gun banning LIBERAL who has almost no conservative values to represent the GOP, and to hell with the rest of us. Now they and you are crying for our vote.
The ONLY way Romney is going to get some of these votes back is to nominate a true conservative who respects the Second Amendment as VP. But that's not going to happen. Romney is going to "play it safe" and nominate someone who appeals to the undecideds, the middle, and the liberal lites.
I'm waiting to see how this plays out. Because if the tea party and gun owners are marginalised any more, I'm going to be looking for a third party, because the GOP will have jumped the shark.
I've been waiting for someone to comment on the obvious. Since nobody has, I will.

Dopey Dowd and pretty much everybody she quotes have missed the point. Following are a few examples...
Jo Becker and Scott Shane: "... the liberal law professor who campaigned against torture and the Iraq war now personally makes the final decisions on the “kill list.”
In 2008 the liberal law professor played to his gullible dem base. Opposing Iraq and tough treatment for terrorists was an easy but hypocritical. His fawning media was and remains equally hypocritical.
- obummer kept us in Iraq. We exited (after some degree of success) on the schedule created by Bush. obummer got a pass on both counts.
- obummer ramped up troop levels in Afganistan with predictable results. The press gave him another pass. Bush otoh was a warmonger.
- obummer is now preparing to cut and run from Afganistan without accomplishing anything. How predicable is it that he will get yet another pass from his adoring media?
BTW, am I the only one who remembers the chickensh!t press falling all over themselves running photos of flag draped coffins coming off military transport planes? Here's a clue... they were busy campaigning for obummer at the time. How many of those photos and stories have you seen since obummer became loser in chief?
"Democrat Ed Rendell, the former governor of Pennsylvania, wonders how 'the best communicator in campaign history' lost his touch."
obummer didn't lose his touch Ed. His bullsh!t rhetoric simply ran headlong into reality. Now that he's out where performance talks and bullsh!t walks, he's been exposed as a leftist ideologue and failure.
Obummer never felt the need to explain or sell his signature pieces of legislation — the stimulus and health care bills.
Ok. Here's the explanation: the stimulus was a failure and obummercare is hostile government taking over of 1/6th of the U.S. economy.
For the benefit of dullards a government takeover of private business is the textbook definition of socialism.
Here's the bottom line. Socialism NEVER works. obummer is a failure precisely because he's a socialist and his center piece legislative efforts are socialist wet dreams.
I could go on but suffice to say Bill Clinton called this one right. obummer is in fact a lightweight.
sissy
Listen to tipod, he remembers only to well. Just remember that wonderful Clinton. Bill
sissy I take that obummer is not your pick as pres LOL
Any guess who I'll be voting for?
