I so wish I could afford that shotgun. Was the mechanical problem corrected?
Probably nothing wrong with it. If you short shuck a 31, which is rare because of their short stroke distance, the shell will often miss the carrier and fall to the ground. If something is wrong with the gun it shouldn't be too much of a problem fixing it. Too bad you tubed it. Do you have the original wood?

Nice work do you know who upgraded the gun? The engraver and the stockmaker. The gun reminds me of some of the Pachmayer custom guns from the 60's and early 70's
