My 9 yr old son shot a Beretta 3901 RL Target with a 26" barrel with a Flat Rib last year & shot it very well. I was thinking of getting him a 30" or 32" Step Rib Trap Barrel. Would that be too long for him or hinder his swing? Any input would be appreciated.
    Thanks, Zeb

Not knowing your son's size or strength, but going on the average 9 yr old, I would say stay with the shorter barrel. I have seen too many young shooters leaning back wards to help hold up a longer barreled gun, especially with a shorter stock, a long barrel moves the balance point too far forward.

I agree with Dave. If your son is of average 9-year-old size, a longer barrel could cause him to shift his weight to his back foot, hamper his swing and risk cheek slap.
