This topic came up in another discussion. What was your most memorable, your first 25, 50 or 100 straight?

BONUS QUESTION - Was it Trap or Skeet?

First 25 was the very best so far. The 50 didn't mean that much or I would remember it more. The first 75 was exciting. I haven't hit the 100 yet. Just a 99.

All are great memories. The first 100 was in the rain at the Missouri state shoot and it really meant a lot to me. John

My first 25 was, I think, in 1978...the year I started registering targets...and after more burned up ammo than I'd care to admit. The 50 came that year too...the 75 came in 1980...and my lone 100 came in 1993 at the Calgary (Alberta, Canada) Trap Club, shooting with my son and my best friend.

I'd have to say my 100 was my most memorable, was shooting at the PA State Shoot, with a good group of friends, won my 1st state shoot trophy, and my highest score to date (199x200). They were all good times, though, no doubt about that.

I'm sorry but I cannot remember those milestones. but I do remember my first 200 srtaight. It was at the 1968 Indiana State Shoot, Class Champ day. OMG.!.!. That's 40 years ago! I do remember it was good enough for an outright class A championship on that day. My Dad was shooting next to me and he was a nervious wreck......more so than I was. I just split the 200th target in half.

I don't remember my first 25 or 50,but do remember my first 100, so I guess that answers that question.

My first 50 straight actually came at my first registered shoot, but not without some drama. Broke 48 in the middle of my first hundred in the morning and really starting to tense up. Called for # 49 and crushed it, only to hear, "No target". WTF? The bird came out broken and I didn't recognize it. I said, "Now what?" And was told I would have to shoot it again. You guessed it..."Lost". Broke the last one for a score of 49 out of those 50. Damn it, but wait... In the PM I lucked out and broke the middle fifty... That was memorable.

I remember them all, probably because the 25 and 50 came in the same event. Nice spring day at the Milwaukee Gun (at least that's what I think was called). Shooting out over Lake Michigan trying not to watch the boats cruise by.

The 100 came at Faskell's a few years later and I won a shoot off in the pouring rain.

I remember my first 25 straight.

But my first 100 straight is more memorable. It came at the Kansas State shoot on my way to 175 straight after a first round 23, for a 198. Didn't win a thing that day. But I didn't care.

    Haven't run them since.

Started shooting in April 2005, and got my first 100 straight nearly 3 years to the day I started shooting. But my first 25 was much more memorable to me, and nerve wracking, than the 100 was.

I had never shot a straight in anything. I was shooting in my first registered trap shoot. I had probably shot maybe 20-30 rounds of trap total before the shoot. I hit 44 of the first 50 targets. I then ran the next 25. I followed that up with another 25 straight. I still have only shot in that one registered shoot, but I am looking forward to shooting in more shoots this year.

My most memorable 100 was the party my friends had when I broke my 100th 100. I never dreamed I would shoot that many. They took pictures of me breaking that target and they kept the empty hull.
