Hard to believe they can't find good people to fill these positions whose closets aren't full of skeletons. I guess that tells you all you need to know about the Dems. Can you hardly wait until the Messiah starts appointing judges to the Federal bench. We're in for a long and rough ride.

"Rangel, Other Reps, Party in Caribbean With Citi Funds

    Friday, January 30, 2009 12:04 PM

By: Jim Meyers Article Font Size

Six Democratic members of Congress enjoyed a Caribbean junket sponsored by Citigroup after Congress had approved the $700 billion bailout of financial services firms in October.

The National Legal and Policy Center, a watchdog group, has asked Neil Barofsky, the Special Inspector General for the Troubled Asset Relief Program, for a formal review of the Citigroup’s sponsorship of the trip by House Ways and Means Committee Chairman Charles Rangel and five others.

The NLPC says the trip violated House rules.

The purported purpose of the Nov. 6-9 junket was to attend the Caribbean Multi-Cultural Business Conference on the island of St. Maarten, but “the primary purpose of attending for most participants appeared to be to take a vacation,” according to the NLPC, which had a representative at the event.

The NLPC said in a statement: “The ‘lead sponsor’ was Citigroup, which contributed $100,000. Citigroup was certainly aware that it would be a major recipient of bailout funds. It was also aware that its fortunes had become increasingly reliant on Congressional actions.

“Citigroup should have also been aware that corporate sponsorship of such an event was banned by House rules adopted on March 1, 2007, in response to the [lobbyist Jack] Abramoff scandal and the infamous golf trip to Scotland.”

In addition to Rangel, other members of Congress who attended were Donald Payne of New Jersey, Sheila Jackson-Lee of Texas, Carolyn Cheeks Kilpatrick of Michigan, Bennie Thompson of Mississippi, and Donna Christensen, the delegate to the House from the United States Virgin Islands."

    Breaking News ............

Washington , DC - President Barack Obama and the Demo cr at controlled Congress is considering sweeping legislation that will provide new benefits for many Americans. The Americans With No Abilities Act (AWNAA) is being hailed as a major legislative goal by advocates of the millions of Americans who lack any real skills or ambition.

“Roughly 50 percent of Americans do not possess the competence and drive necessary to carve out a meaningful role for themselves in society,” said California Senator Barbara Boxer. “We can no longer stand by and allow People of Inability (POI) to be ridiculed and passed over. With this legislation, employers will no longer be able to grant special favors to a small group of workers, simply because they have some idea of what they are doing.”

In a Capitol Hill press conference, House Majority Leader Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid pointed to the success of the U.S. Postal Service, which has a long-standing policy of providing opportunity without regard to performance. Approximately 74 percent of postal employees lack any job skills, making this agency the single largest U.S. employer of Persons of Inability.

Private-sector industries with good records of non-dis cr imination against the Inept include retail sales (72%), the airline industry (68%), and home improvement warehouse stores (65%). At the state government level, the Department of Motor Vehicles also has an excellent record of hiring Persons of Inability (63%).

Under AWNAA, more than 25 million mid-level positions will be cr eated, with important-sounding titles but little real responsibility, thus providing an illusory sense of purpose and performance.

Mandatory non-performance-based raises and promotions will be given so as to guarantee upward mobility for even the most unremarkable employees. The legislation provides su bs tantial tax breaks to corporations that promote a significant number of Persons of Inability into middle-management positions, and gives a tax cr edit to small and medium-sized businesses that agree to hire one clueless worker for every two talented hires.

Finally, the AWNAA contains tough new measures to make it more difficult to dis cr iminate against the non-abled, banning, for example, dis cr iminatory interview questions such as, “Do you have any skills or experience that relate to this job?”

“As a Non-abled person, I can't be expected to keep up with people who have something going for them,” said Mary Lou Gertz, who lost her position as a lug-nut twister at the GM plant in Flint , Michigan , due to her inability to remember rightey t ightey, lefty loosey. “This new law should be real good for people like me,” Gertz added. With the passage of this bill, Gertz and millions of other untalented citizens will finally see a light at the end of the tunnel.

Said Senator Dick Durbin (D-IL), “As a Senator with no abilities, I believe the same privileges that elected officials enjoy ought to be extended to every American with no abilities. It is our duty as lawmakers to provide each and every American citizen, regardless of his or her inadequacy, with some sort of space to take up in this great nation and a good salary for doing so.”

I got this in an E Mail and though it sounds like a joke I have a feeling its true ... WPT ... (YAC) ...

They never did claim to guarantee minimal honesty and minimal integrity, did they? It's amazing that we have higher standards for ourselves but we won't hold these people these the same levels. The question is, do the American people deserve this bunch??? BT-100dc

    Let's not forget..

Caroline also had a tax issue along with hiring illegals

Diane Feinstein and her hubby's government contracts

Jon Murtha's son and government contracts.

But to be fair, the Republicans also have plenty of dirty laundry.

I'd love to respond to this posting regarding the GOP members and all of their fu#kups over the years, but due to the amount of space, time and server space it would require on Trapshooters.com, it might cause the system to crash beyond repair!

Also, ever look in your own closet or those of your family. We all have skeletons somewhere. Why don't we start a thread about our F**kups. Its always so easy to be the first to cast stones at others, regardless of what they do for a living. Granted public officals should lead a better life than the general public, but everyone screws up, they just happen to always be in the public eye.

First of all the democrats have no rules that pertain to them. So anything is OK. Well except saying something about Bush that is not condemning him.

No they don't have rules to follow just guidelines that can be changed at a seconds notice.

Does anyone think a republican could be a high up clan member at any time in his life and still be a congressman or senator?

Nope rules don't apply and if they did they change them.

    Rock

mikeshann.........it takes a lot more than a sekleton in a closer somewhere to bring a whole country's economic system down in ruins.

I find your partisan statement shallow and disengenuous.

Part of the Democrat platform was change, transparency, and "hope" (whatever that means). Putting old Clintonites in the cabinet is hardly change, especially Daschel, who couldn't even get elected in his own state. Now the tax evasion stuff. Based on Obama's promises and statements, we expected better. Like maybe real partisan cabinet members, not PAYBACKS. Look at the Pork in the stimulus package. Rediculous. Even the media is starting to rethink this gig.

Plenty of corruption going on in Washington.

Neither party has the market cornered on that, and if you look long enough, they've probably all got some skeletons in the closet. Democrats are just as corrupt as Republicans, and vice versa.

What rankles me is when Nanacy Pelosi gets up there and claims the Democrats are lily white and untarnished by such behavior.

"The American people voted to restore integrity and honesty in Washington D.C.," she said. "And the Democrats intend to lead the most honest, most open, and most ethical Congress in history." – Nancy Pelosi

    Yeah, right.

With the sleaze in Obama's regime thus far, do you really believe, that the man-child, lord messiah, the most merciful, Obama will actually listen to a voice of reason? Don't count on it. This is proving to be the most Corrupt, sleazy administration in the History of America. Tax Cheats/Conflicts of interest/Folks who have taken part in pardons for felons and terrorists. Hey, but Obama did promise change. I don't see it, but he promised it. He also promised Hope. I see only despair coming from his office. His Yes We Can Mantra, has proven to be a slogan for Yes We Can appoint the biggest sleaze bags in the History of this nation. Yes we can pull the wool over America's eyes. Yes we can turn this nation into a nation of Sheep. Yes we can turn this nation into a Socialist Nation. May God have mercy on the United States of America. A Nation in Distress!!
