    Hello,
Where am I going wrong with this thread ?
Just more idle chatter with the troops.

You hear folks holler " did you break-um all "
You don't have to break 100 - all you need to do is break 90

BREAK POINT is the average looked at by the computer to determine
    if a reduction is warranted.
    Eastern Zone: 90%
    Central Zone 90%
    Southern Zone 90%
    Southwestern Zone 90%
    Western Zone 90%

The ATA has all zones at the 90% break point, where you stand isn't
complicated? your percentage will tell you if you are too far from the
    trap house.

If you have 1000 registered handicap targets below the 90% there will be a computer reduction mailed, if you have not earned any punches & are not coded?
There is a singles factor involved also on how close you can be reduced.

Your average is supposed to tell you what distance to stand? the idea is to move forward until you can MAINTAIN THE 90, this way all shooters have the same chance to win the event.

Being able to break 100 in singles is a very nice accomplishment
Being able to break 90 in caps is also a very nice accomplishment

Anyone can shoot a terrible score from a distance, the question is why would anyone want to ? - " Did you get your 90 " ?

Did they set all zones to the same reduction point? It used to be 87% in the Central Zone.

What buzz said. Not all break points are 90. Some Zones are different. Better re-think your post.

Edit: At least they used to vary from zone to zone.

No you don't have to run-em, but you "paid" for all of them so you might as well break them all,and if you do you usually don't have to worry about shoot-offs, just think of all the shells you will save. Grin----- Ross Puls

Yea but shoot a 90 in a ATA shoot and you will not take home the award.
