Found a one pound container of this powder. It says for high velocity shot shell loads. I know it is old and I found it mentioned as being replaced by another WW powder, but no loading info. With the current difficulty finding powder, I was try ing to find loading information. I checked all of my manuals and found nothing. Any help would be appreciated. Otherwise, it is expensive fertilizer.

Anything, 12 or 20 guage sporting or hunting loads. I'm getting a little short on powder and would like to use this. My original intent was high velocity 20 guage. Any recipes or data appreciated. Regards,

Some info I found is that it is the same as HS-5, which is also an obsolete powder. see link above. For being as old as it is, it's probably pretty cheap fertilizer. :) Mark

The loads comes out of a Lyman 2nd edition.

    RXP case-CCI109primer-Remington RXP12wad-1-1/4shot and 28grains of HS-5/WW500hs 1260fps-lup 9,050

    RXP case-CCI109primer-Remington R12Hwad-1-1/4shot and 29grains of HS-5/WW500hs 1295fps-lup 9,410

I use a Federal 209A primer because Ball powder does not start very well and I cut back the powder by a full grain in the first load. I have never loaded the 2nd load. I found the load to be all I needed and it's very consistent over a chronograph.

For the 20gauge Lyman list the following.

    RXP case-CCI209 primer-Remington RXP20wad-7/8shot and 19.5 of HS-5/WW500hs
    1200fps-lup 8,840
I have never loaded the 20 either.

It also shows in some of the older MEC charts that WW500HS to be the same as HS-5. I was not comfortable and called Hodgdon. The person I talked to said in fact they were the same. I would recommend you call Hodgdon and ask for your self.

    Good luck,
    Ajax

Here is another I forgot and I do load.

    WW case-CCI109primer-WAA12wad-1-1/4shot-28grain of HS5/WW500hs-1205FPS-LUP 8,040
I cut the powder to 27 because of the Fed209A.

    Good luck,
    Ajax
