I'm interested in a 1911 .45 pistol for shooting, not for
collecting. Would be interested in a swap, I have a number
of military (primarily WWII & Korea vintage) rifles which
would go on the block, along with a number of Model 12's/42's.
I know the value of the stuff I have, would be interested in
a swap where neither of us gets ripped off...... Drop the
leading 'z' from the email address above and drop me a line
    if you are interested.

Guys, please forget that I mentioned Model 42's in the above
    WTT post. I'm looking to do a straight-up trade and a 'knock-around'
1911 is not in the same price range as Model 42's. I don't want
to do the hassle of dickering on price difference, etc. I
shouldn't have mentioned the 42's to start with, my error...

Not that I want to sell it, but I have a very shootable, and totally original Colt Model 1911 that my father brought back from France/Germany in WWII.

Marked "Model of 1911 U.S. Army" on one side of the slide, the other marked "Colt's PT F.A MFg Co." A lot of Patent dates and "United States Property". He hasn't shot it since 1945 or so, I have put maybe 2 boxes thru it over the last 20 yrs. Is there any special value to this other than sentimental value??

    Pat,
I'm still interested in trading guns, but I don't think that
the 42's fit the price range I'm looking for. The Model 12's and
Military stuff certainly would. I see that GunsAmerica has a mob
of 1911's, both old and recent vintages, for $500 or so and up.
Since I want this piece STRICTLY FOR TEST SHOOTING, I don't need
something which can have it's lineage traced back 90 years or so.
    I do want a real 1911, however. That's my quandry.... Ergo, I'm
not ready to do a 'DELETE' just yet..

If someone wants a real nice 45 and has a B gun they would like to part with then we should talk.

I have a knockabout ParaOrdinance P16-40 Signature with a 10 round and 16 round mag. It is in fair condition and has been drilled for a C-More sight. The blueing is wore but shoots just fine. It has target type sights. These are around $900 new now so I would go half that $450. These double stack 1911s are really fun to shoot. If interested let me know....
