1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

    Its a 22lr combat masterpiece, essentially a 4" barreled K-22 (Model 17).

    One great .22.

I got mine 20 years ago and have tried to shoot the crap out of it but it is still going strong. That big fat 4" barrel carries well and is amazingly stable. Good luck on finding your pal one of these beauties. If I were to sell you mine at the cost of the ammo I have run through it the price would be well into 4 figures.

The Model 18, as originally designed, has a tapered barrel. The Model 17 has the heavier barrel. Some late production Model 18s, just before the series ended, were made with Model 17 barrels, perhaps as a parts cleanup.

I have a Model 18 from 1982. I won't get rid of it because it was the first Christmas present my wife gave me.

Glad to know what a model 18 is.

I have two Model 17's. One older one (K-22) before S&W started numbering them and another somewhat newer that is marked model 17.

    I really like them.

I have a Model 18 that I haven't shot in years. I will pull it out of the safe and take a couple pics for you. Let me do a little research to see what it is worth.

I have this Model 18-4 that I would sell for $500 plus shipping. It is in excellent shape and shoots great.
