1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

Looking for an older 870 Trap with fixed choke. Does not need to look good but has to function properly. I am not looking to spend much. Maybe one of you have an 870 sitting in a closet that needs a fat and hairy guy to love it and shoot it back to life?

There's not a ton of difference between the Trap model and the stock 870. My recommendation is to get a 870 with a 30" Vent Rib barrel and have your gunsmith add a center bead.

Replace the forearm with an extended forearm, and you've just about built a 870 Trap.

My 870 trap shoots higher than my 870 field gun...... I like the trap 870 better cause I can see the target better..... but thats just me... you may differ...

I would invest in some way to make the stock higher, either shim the stock or buy the Meadow Industries adjustable pad. I do both on my 870 trap stock plus I bent the barrel. Wise choice on the 870, easy to work on and will last several lifetimes.

You got the right idea just get a trap model with a monticarlo stock, shoots higher for rising targets like trap. I had an adjustable comb put on mine, you won't be sorry.
