1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

For more detailed information please see this post: Thread Bump Functionality.

I have one, it got so hot that the batteries blew and leaked. It no longer works on batteries but it does work when plugged in. I would not buy another one. I also have the escort that does not use batteries it is a much much much better unit. This is just for your information. I hope it helps.

    Lovesthesport,

Don is 100% correct, I had a battery Escort that toasted the batteries too. It was still under warranty and I sent it back to Escort. The customer service rep was really nice and since the original was toast he offered to send me a 12 volt unit that plugs in to the lighter or power outlet in the car. (He kind of recommended it...) 5 years later it still works like a charm.

Clayman - I looked at the v1 too--the reviews on you tube make the escort more attractive--

Had a valintine 1 for years, sent back once for service, "NO" charge. It is a great detector.

Have my Valentine 1 for 8-10 years. Second to none! Had many generations of Escort/Passports over the years and Valentine 1 FAR surpasses them.

because Escort pays WAY too much money in advertising to those mags.

this is a VERY old topic and V1 always wins. I've had it for over 12 yrs and would never use anything else.

After reading the posts on the Valentine I went to their web site and was impressed with the unit. I ordered one for my wife...the locals are cracking down hard here as tax revenue is down and they patrol the side streets with Ka band radar. (I'll give it to her for a birthday gift this month...) One saved ticket will pay for the unit. (Tickets are $150.00!! Plus court costs plus driving school if you want the points off your license!) I'll report back on the forum as to the units effectiveness and how we like it.

    Thanks,

    Bob Schultz
