Yes an MX-8 stock will fit a comp one. But, most comp ones had a different top lever release than most MX-8s. Sometimes the wood where the release is located needs to be worked on a bit. It is not a big deal.

And Jim, I understand. I have resurrected a few myself. Jake

If you find a MX8 stock in the same vintage as the Comp 1 it should fit without problem. In other words a type 3 MX8 stock will fit a type 3 Comp 1

All the Comp 1's (or more correctly SC1's) were made before about 1975± They were all Type 1, 2 or 3. There were no Type 4's that I am aware of. I have 2 that are Type 3's in the 44xxx range and one of the very early type 1's 31xxx.

A friend of mine asked me to post that he has a Hilmer stock for a Perazzi Comp 1(SC1). This stock is in near new condition with good figure and has a Hilmer adjustable comb. If you are interested, his name is Randy Strauss and his cell phone number is 319-389-2785.
