1. We have added the ability for anyone to 'bump' threads that they have created. This is mainly useful in the classifieds area where posters constantly bump for sale threads to bring it to the top. This allows them the ability to do that without having to clutter the thread with extra 'TTT' and 'Bump' type posts. To bump it, go inside your thread and click on 'Thread Tools' at the top, then select 'bump'. You can bump only once per 24 hour period.

    Hey Guys,

I am looking for a used Beretta SO5.

After some digging, I found a few, there are 2 (made in 1993 and 1994) with the old mobil bore and one with optima bore (not sure what year, the dealer said it's about 5-6 yrs old...).

If you were to buy a used SO5, will you go with the older version (mobil bore) or the newer version (optima bore)? Price (around $12K) and condition is about the same.

Do you know what year Beretta switch from mobil bore to optima bore? What are the differences and which one is better in terms of recoil feel, pattern uniformity etc...

I will be using the gun for international skeet, will you go with a 32" barrel or 29.5" barrel?

How expensive is to get a replacement barrel for an SO5? I checked the different websites and can't find any used barrel for SO5... Also, do I have to send the gun to Beretta Italy to have the barrel fitted? I was told that not many gunsmith knows how to work on / fit a SO5.

Thanks again for your time and help.
