I think it is quite clean.
What is your load? What gun are you shooting it in?
With [19gr/1145fps or 20gr./1200fps] any AA clone wad, AA hull, 1 1/8oz. of shot and just about any primer I have found it to be a great load that shoots pretty clean.

1 oz load with a pink Winchester clone from claybuster and a cheddite primer and a number 32 bushing up from a 30 and 31 to try and raise the pressure for a clean burn.Remington hulls.

I've found this powder can be dirty or clean. A lot depends on what primer and loads you put it in. Ball powder takes a good fire to get it started. It helps using the hot primers like Fed 209A or a CCI209M. It also helps to put a heavier load in from of it like 1-1/8, so it will generate enough heat to clean the burn.

I seem to remember that 452AA looked more like H110 or something similar. Not a flake type powder ie Clays or ClayDot.

I liked it for metering and shooting qualities, but found the after-burn odor unpleasant.

I've never considered it any dirtier than any other powder.

Furthermore, the next shot cleans out the barrel anyway.

It's my favorite powder after 452AA.

"It's my favorite powder after 452AA."

That's good to know since I'm in love with 6lbs of 452AA I lucked into. Best powder I've ever used for 38+P and .45ACP but 7-8,000 rounds won't last long. I've heard WW452AA = Hodgdon Trap100 but haven't followed up on that yet. Good to have options these days.

If you can confirm it is the same as Trap 100, I'd be very interested to know this.
