A guy walked into the gun club and had this case for sale. It is a 500 round case of 12ga 3 1/4 dram 1oz of number 8 shot, sold by wards which at one time was montgomery and ward. This case was unopened until I got it. I wanted to make sure the brass was not oxidized or damaged in anyway.

What do ya think? Sell it, Hang on to it or Just shoot it.

    Thanks All,
    Craig

You could put a few boxes on an auction site...that will pretty quickly tell you what someone is willing to pay for it.

If, I opened it I would have been a little easier on the box.

As old as they are, I have to wonder if the felt wads are still any good??? Although the powder will be fine the felt wads can degrade to the point that they will allow the gases to escape. Even older plastic wads can do this as well. Good Luck with them. break em all Jeff

Federal Reifenhausen tubed shotshells, private labeled by Federal for Montgomery Wards. They did the same for Western Auto Stores of Kansas City.

That's the same box that a case of Federal papers came in that I shot in the 70's, so I'm sure that Barry Roach is right.

I still have and store shells in those 20 box cases from Federal. They've been way handy ever since the '70s although it seems they get heavier and heavier as I progress.......breakemall

I had a big box of them that my mom give me after my grand father pass away. I couldn't find anyone that wanted them so I give them to the 4-H kids to shoot up. I did keep two shells just to cut up and the moly coating was gone off the shot. The kids had fun shooting them up!

Donate them to the local SCTP team. They could likely use cheap practice ammo.
