It is amazing that day after day we have women that serve and do things that only men did before

"An amazing Hero story of one of our Female Medics, SPC Monica Brown,19. A vehicle was hit with an IED & her SGT yelled out, "Doc let's go" & she went! She spotted two injured soldiers and under intense fire dragged them both to safety. Then they started receiving mortar shells and she covered their bodies with her own body & worked on them through an intense 2 hour fight! Both soldiers were saved thanks to her amazing Courage & Heroism! She received a Silver Star for her Bravery that day to save her Brother's lives while risking her own! Please Honor her by Liking & Sharing this Amazing story of Heroism on the Battlefield!
God Bless you SPC Monica Brown & All our Medics who put their own lives at risk to save their Brothers & Sisters in Combat!!!"

    Regards from Iowa

There is no place for women in combat. Although, I think she was brave, she should not have been there. I think women serving in combat rolls is a very bad idea. I can just see some 5'1" 115lb woman humping 60 pounds of gear in the jungles of Vietnam. I saw many big strong young men collapse. And carrying one of those big young guys after they have been wounded through the muck and brush. No way.

Equality comes with a price. If you want to play in a man's world than you take the good with the bad. Women will do just fine in combat.

Wow Gene, that 19 year-old girl already has more combat experience than you and she didn't even go to the "War College."

A soldier is a soldier. Recogination of soldiers based on gender is no different or correct than recogination based on race. Specialist Brown should be reconized for doing her job based on its merit, not her sex. Specialist Brown is to be commended for doing that which she is trained in the most difficult of circumstance. I for one salute her, because she is a soldier, not because she is a woman. Jake Jacobs, USA Ret.

I agree the women shold not be allowed to serve in front
line ground combat units. I believe that the Marine Corp
has that policy in effect. Women can do a fine job in many
area's but I don't believe they should be involved in house-to-
house combat where they may have to fight hand-to-
hand or drag a fellow member a 100 yards to safety. Do they
have the stomach to plunge a bayonet in the enemy's chest?
Probably not one in 100. Do they have the strength to climb
up and down cargo nets with a 90 pound pack on their backs?
I don't believe in holding women back but in the military
there are jobs they should not be granted.

Hey guys, this is not fresh news.

This battlefield incident happened in April, 2007.

To put it in perspective,Dick Cheney presented her the silver star on March 21, 2008.

Nothing taken away from the act of bravery, just setting the time frame.

There is a CONGRESSIONAL MEDAL OF HONOR Society. The award itself is the "Medal Of Honor". Click on the link for a good read. Jake

Women in combat roles are pure folly. Supporting roles are another story.

There's a reason our civilian society has domestic violence laws. For that same reasoning women should stay out of combat roles.

They should have turned my ex-wife loose in Afghanistan or Iraq right in the middle of the combat zone. I guarantee if she was dropped off during that time of the month it would have been like the Tasmanian Devil on Looney Toons. Woman was psycho I tell ya.

Most men aren't that well suited for modern combat, either, if anyone is. In any case, it takes 10 people behind the lines to keep 1 at the front, so there's plenty of room for everyone.
