It's a field model, most Trap models feature Full Trap on the barrel and a scroll pattern on both sides of the receiver.

Not necessarily so. I bought a new in box Super X-1 trap last year and the barrel was stamped "Full Choke" and it did not have the scrolling on the receiver. (It was one of the last Super X-1's produced) My older Super X-1 has the Full Trap choke on it and has the scrolling. (Along with the allen screw on the muzzle end of the rib. There are a few experts on this forum that know a lot more about the Super X-1's than I do. Maybe they can provide more input or correct me if I'm wrong. Ed

I measured the barrel from the reciever and it is 29.5", it does curve up and then back down and the stock is a monte carlo w/o raised cheek plate

It looks just like this gun, but is like brand new, not all beat up like the one shown but other than it's identical, stock and all, my reciever is still jeweled etc.

I also would be interested in more info on the beautiful black stocks. They really look sharp!

Those are some beautiful guns. We just started selling the Winchester guns and seems as if everyone is wild about the sx2 wildfowl. None of the catalogs list anything close to as beautiful as your guns though. Jackie B.

    Thanks for the compliments...

go here for the info you need.....

    www.sportcoatgunfinish.com

I had mine done about 3-4 years ago, they are also all updates, stainless mag tube, stainless gas system, stainless return spring tube...and they are real shooters, one is a trap barrel and one is a IC barrel...the stocks are Field and Skeet...all the stainless is really overkill and not necessary to build a really good shooter...

To build a shooter you really need a very reliable trigger stage 1 or 3 doesn't matter but it does need to be A1 condition, a new Bolt Buffer, and a good barrel with a good VR...I use a screw choked Trap Full by Briley on one of mine...

    regards

I guess that I must have a somewhat peculiar barrel on mine. It has no ramp, just a curved end on the rib that comes right up against the receiver but it is marked at trap full choke. Allen screw. Older gun. Pretty decent wood. But I have never seen another rib like the one on mine. John

Simple test is to lay the SX-1 trigger assembly next to an 1100. Easy decision on which one will hold up in competition!!
