I have a pre 64 #71 that I had rebarreled by Ackley many years ago to 450/348 (sort of an improved Alaskan).

Equivalent to factory 458 ballistics in a great lever chassis.

I can no longer hunt the giant bears etc. so I would part with it.

It has Ackleys re-enforced magazine clamp, high line side mounted low power scope, Williams foolproof "peep" and Malmborgs HTG (HONEST TO GOD)
intergal muzzle brake that really works.

Included a 348 Ackley improved bbl.

Dies, brass, quite a few bullets and some loaded ammo.

    Excellent condition.

No tire kickers please and no trades.

    $2,500 you pay shipping.

Dick: All original model 71`s were pre-64`s.The model 71 was dropped from Winchesters product line at the same time the model 97 shotgun was.Beware of the very last few of both these guns were made from parts inventories on hand, thus some had different I.D. numbers for actions & Bbl`s.Then remaining parts were sold by lump sums...KS-OKIE.

Both of mine are "older" guns.

I also have an original 71 "Deluxe" - not for sale.

Cabela's has 2 or 3 for sale, from $1900 to $4000. Hope this helps.
