    Joe, The checkering looks to me like what Winchester would call "A" carved.

    The rib extension appears to be of Simmons origin. The checkering pattern isn't the same as Winchester factory. But very nice condition and nice wood.

    Very Nice, most of us do enjoy looking at a work of art, even if we don't own it. Most of us have an appreciation of nice lumber in a day when composite stocks are the norm. Thankyou for sharing. I am always in appreciation.
    I have an older Rem. 700 C from custom Rem. in the 70's, in 22-250 Rem. with rubber butt plate and rosewood stock tip. Some day I will share.

    Hi Bill - great looking gun and absolutely terrific wood. I like the red tones added to the finish, not over done...just right.

    Man..you got some nice looking shotguns LOL

    I am out in Wyoming with my daughters they are skiing on spring break from school. Please save some (ALL) your money as I have something to share with you when I return on Wednesday. Your 42 is wonderful I really enjoyed seeing it and the wood is over the top thanks for shairing and enjoy it.

    Hey, Joe Woods. I have a pair of Remington 700 C's as you described. Unbelievable out of the box shooters. One is 270cal., the other is a 7MMag. Nice wood is always pleasing to the eye. Thanks.
