I have a model 1200 built in 1965 to 67 , the barrell says modified but my choke guage seems to say IC. I am sure it has not been altered, what do you think????

I doubt it. Winchester modified chokes can be found with constrictions varying from .010 to .020. If you are using a drop in gauge--they are notoriously inaccurate. 12 ga. bore diameters can anywhere from .722 to .745 on factory guns. The standard 12 bore is .729. So you can see that if your gun has a slightly larger bore, the drop in gauge will DROP in a little further and could give you an IC reading. You need to measure the bore and then the choke to determine the real constriction.
