I just came upon a mod 25 (Poor man's Mod 12) for sale. It has been updated way back with a Herter's trap rib, new blue, and a Herter's fancy walnut stock. It was done by Herter in the sixties.

It looks feels and shoots like Mod 12. And as far as I can tell the only difference is that the barrel is not detachable (does not break down like a mod 12).

This is a full choked 30" barrel with a 14&1/2" pull.

Any one got a price on what appears to 95% and tight and smooth?

Jim: Blue Book puts a Model 25 in 95% condition at $400.

I sure wouldn't call it a poor man's model 12. Same basic gun, fewer parts, less likely to work loose. Above mentioned prices seem about right. Grab it.

    Above prices are high

People generally dont pay for modifications-- now outstanding wood might be an exception

If you look at what model 25s go for-- they usually sell in the 200 dollar range not the 400 dollar range
