I returned a mdl 70 30-06 for a customer as it would fire sometimes when closing the bolt. I don't know how old it is but is pretty old. I shipped it on 20 Dec and received it back today Jan 6th. I haven't tried it yet but they thoroughly cleaned it too. NO CHARGE, I couldn't believe it. Now that is service. Jackie B.

Back in prehistoric days, when I performed warranty service and repair for Winchester, they were very good about this. I could clean and service an OLD Winchester, and charge it to warranty, no charge to the customer.
