You can take em to the parking lot with that 4064 and a well scoped 22-250! Tom Rhoads

I don't think you want to run 4064 in any shotshell. I believe it would be too slow of a burn and wouldn't generate enough pressure for the volume being used, but I could be wrong.

IMR 4064 is a rifle powder, works well in the Win 308 and 30-06. Win 540 is a favorite for the 28 guage. HMB

Look at #16 (appropriately, Clays) then look where 4064 is (hint - 120).

540 is rated at least close to some of the slower 12 gauge powders (800X, WSF), but hardly ideal.

Best look for someone to trade with. Good luck.

As Tom mentioned. I use it in my Remington 700 22-250. 34.5 gr. behind a Sierra or Hornady 52gr. BTH. Think I'd sell it an buy some shotgun powder.

I used Win 540 for long annies. AA hull, 33grains 540, WAA12F114 wad, Win primer, and ounce and a quarter of 6s.

Winchester 540 is now Hodgdon HS-6.

Yes 540 is the same as HS6 and 571 is the same as HS7. I use 22 grains of HS6 in a AA hull Win primer with 1 oz of shot. Rem 20 ga SP 20 wad Nice skeet load. Also can use the same 22 grns in a federal case, win primer with a 7/8 oz wad.
