16 gauge Model 12 stocks are scarce and 12 gauge are relatively plentiful. Has anyone had experience with or heard of fitting a 12 ga. on a 16 ga. receiver?

A 12 Ga. stock won't fit. You'll need to find one from a 16. If you watch Ebay they show up from time to time. Good luck.

A 12 ga stock fits fine it just hangs over the metal a little bit. You can cut it down and re-finish, and you cant tell.

    Hope this helps

I'm not positive but I think a 20 ga. works on a 16 ga. Mike.

I'd opt for the advice given you by GR Eubanks! A great model 12 gunsmith as well as most other makes.

AND, your choices of used model 12 stocks are much greater with 12s than smaller bore stocks.

Thanks for the advice, I figured that was the case. I plan on refinishing the wood on this gun so I think I will try and sand a 12 gauge stock down and fit it to my 16 gauge.

Yes, the Modelnumber12 guy is absolutely wrong. The only place you need to trim a little is at the top of the receiver. Every other area fits just fine. Where do these guys get these answers? Thank you, Mr. Eubanks.
