I just purchased a group of nice old guns, one of them being a Win 94 lever action carbine 30-30, round 20" barrel. Gun was manufactured in 1960, Ser# 2460XXX. Gun is all original, metal is 98% with a few small marks to the wood.

My question(s): What type finish was originally used on the wood? Gun is not for sale but I am curious as to it's $ value? All help appreciated.

    Thanks, Marc

The model 94 carbine has a 20 inch barrel. I would estimate the value at $450.00 for a nice one, to around $700.00 for a mint condition example. Value would be much less if serial number is over 2700000. One manufactured in 1960 should have a serial number under 2500000.

    Mike,

You are right on. BBl is 20" and Ser# is 2460XXX.

    Thanks, Marc

I'd bet the people at http://www.levergunscommunity.com/ (the best levergun site in the world) would be a better source than a buncha shotgun fondlers.
