A cousin has a Winchester Model 1300 black slug gun with an extra long magazine. It appears to me that a standard field barrel of 28 inch length would not fit because of the extended magazine ring on the barrel. Also to match the gun the barrel would need to be anodized. In looking at the Winchester site and others it does not appear that a 28 inch barrel is available for the slug gun with the long magazine and anodized. Any one have more information on this?

DHS, You would need to find what is called a "long" magazine cap to use a standard barrel. They came in two lengths. One for the seven shot and one for the ten shot. It may be a tough find. Try Neumrich Arms, They are pretty good with obsolete parts. Once you have the proper one you can use any standard barrel.

Thanks for the input. It seems that unless a really good deal on components comes along, it would be best to just purchase a 2nd gun.
