    Pierre,

Surgery Date:October 22, 2009---- 8 Days in the Hospital because of the extent of nerve damage I had plus a minor tear of the spinal lining. L-4, L-5, S1 Fusion (8)screws and (2)rods and a whole ton of Physical Therapy<br>
No shooting for 7 months per the Neurosurgeon's orders. Still an ongoing recovery but as Vern stated above, you can shoot again. Just listen to the Docs and take it slow. I started out with just a round(25 targets) per week and built onto that slowly.---Matt

    oz,

You have the same procedure and shoot much sooner? Those screws are in L-4, L-5, S1. The Neuorsurgeon did not want me to shoot any sooner. This was a re-do as the original screws had pulled out. I'm not sure what you are getting at but its one of those walk a mile in my shoes thing.

Makes $5 gas seem pretty insignificant.

Most of us (me included) do not count our good fortune often enough. I am getting better though. Losing more friends and family every year. More people I know are having medical issues.

Good for Vern and Matt for not giving up!

Enjoy life while we can. There are no do-overs.

I go Tuesday to the spine specialist. the MRI shows a broken up disc about 4-5 area. Quite evident. I'm good today as I have figured out that most of what I do stresses the bad disc (disk?) Typing on the keyboard, I lean my head back (doing it now)and press out the disc. (changed head positions to lean forward)

I wait and see his opinion. This doc was trained at the Univ of Chicago, and was a specialist at Rush Presbyterian in Chicago before coming to the Twin cities. If you know anything about Chicago, Rush is as busy as any hospital in the country. He has experience. I am form Chicago.

    Good luck Pierre'

Oh... Just in case you are in wonderment... I am shooting Jackpot tomorrow. Hopefully. At a minimum I'll be there for the "conversation hour". That is compulsory.

Pierre', we are rootin for you.

In May of 2006, I had L4,L5, and S1 fused. Two cages, 2 rods, and 8 screw(Titanium) were installed. Couldn't shoot til he released me the following Feb. 2007. My back is great, never felt better. Charlie

Had the same surgury on L4 L5 S1 in 2001. Took a few months to get back to shooting. Don't hurry it, let it heal up.
