With the end of the trapshooting season approaching what affect will that have on used trap gun sales? And prices? Will shooters be looking to buy so that they can prepare for next season? Or will only extreme bargains have a chance until Spring? Is now a good time to buy or sell? Thanks, Marc

Should be a good time to buy but a lot of sellers hold out for top dollar no matter what, just look how long some keep putting ads on here forever and never lower the price.

Many different things affect prices. Time of the season is only one of many. The "need to have" factor and timing can affect prices. If someone has been looking for a particular gun as far as configuration and shape, since spring and has not found that gun yet, they may pay more for your gun if it matches what they are looking for. Also, if you do not need to sell, to raise funds, you can ask a little more, and take as much time to sell as you wish. Many times you will see a gun for sale for a long time, then it sells. People come into the market looking for a particular gun that may have shot one over the weekend and did well. Now they think they would like to purchase that particular model. It also amazes me how a gun will sell, and within two days there are either two more of those particular guns for sale, or there is someone on here looking for that model of gun to purchase. You will always get offers below your price, then it just is up to you whether you want to accept them.

the question might be "will the end of money approaching affect gun sales?"

no seasons ,this is 24/7, nows the time to buy that highender or forever hold your peace,or get used to shooting chinese perazzi clones in the future.

Now that's funny, but I bet we will see a Chinese Perazzi or whatever clone. They first have to figure out which one to clone!

Guns are increasing all the time, shooters are decreasing all the time, money is short. Yeah, go ahead and pay $8900 for a new K-80 when you can buy a new condition used one for $4500. Next year it will be $3800 and the seller will be glad to get it. I will be very happy to pass my competition guns on to another new shooter for half what they are really worth. Get with the program and let your guns out for what they should sell for, half what you think they are worth.
