I have a SP 686 with a 28 inch barrel and wish it were longer. I have seen several 32 inch barrels for a 680 for sale one here and wondered if they would fit my 686? I will want to keep the 28 inch barrel as I have a set of tubes which I occasionally use for skeet. Appreciate your response. Jackie B.

All 680 series barrels are interchangeable, some minor fitting may be required. Rib heights vary, so you may need to adjust the height of the comb. Bill Malcolm

Optima barrels are not interchangeable -- so is your 686 an optima? if so it wont work

I have an as new 682 X barrel (small step rib) but it wont fit an optima either

    it has factory choke tubes

I might consider your barrel and cash for a trade

    email me if you want

    Gene,
All barrels for the 600 series Beretta's are interchangable whether they be Optima or Mobile choked.
That is not to say they may or may not need fitting,I have Optima barrels on several of my 680,682 and 687EELL and have some Mobile choked barrels on 687 SPII and SPIII's.

    Respectfully,

i have a set of 680 o/u barrels with fixed chokes, im and full for sale for 800 dollars and with them you get a free 34" unsingle barrel that has been altered. 2" has been added to the barrel, but it shoots great and is choked full.

email me if you are interested.

You will find that the 680's mono-block "ears" 0the water-table) will be wider than the receiver you have. The bbl will drop into the receiver, but will hang very proud on both sides.

I'm not sure on the dates that Beretta went narrower on their receivers, but I think the 682's also have two different widths, with the older guns being wider.

Gene, I have had a couple of the Optima barrels on my 687EELL from other 682 Gold E guns. We switched barrels and forearms. Bill Malcolm
