Just curious as to whether or not free WiFi is available at the Event Center this year?

    Thanks,

Yep there is free WiFi. On my IPhone, I was only able to pick it up to about Bank 12. I shot on Bank 14 today and when I searched for WiFi it never located that particular signal. I suppose the closer to the Events Center the better.

Set your cell phone up as a 'hot-spot' and you can use your laptop anywhere.

We have free WiFi as far away as the North Loop.

We are in the North Loop also. My iPhone and iPad won't catch enough wifi signal, but my son's lap top works 75% of the time.

I was curious if it was just my IPhone struggling from that far or all devices were. Now I see laptops are having better luck. May have to throw my laptop in the truck tomorrow. As if I need more crap thrown in.

I was also advised that the public WIFI was turned off in the event center. I was able to use it on the bench right outside the front door though.

I had free wifi yesterday while I was these but lost it sometime during the day and was never able to find it again.

For those of you with ipads and iphones I have personally noticed that they don't like to pick up on weak signals. I assume this is done purposely to avoid frustration and the trouble that comes with a coming and going signal. I've compared my android side by side with the g/f's iphone and I was able to connect to a weak wifi that iphone wouldn't. However, I found that it was practically useless to connect to it as it would drop out frequently and even when connected the speed made it useless.

I think it is a bandwidth issue. The Wifi works well until lots of people get here and start playing on the Internet.

I don't buy the number of users being the problem.. I was here 4 days before the AIM shooters arrived and could connect but had no internet access.. just as it is now.
