I left my Americase sitting open on the table. Put my XT in and closed it up.
A couple days later opened it up and the smell almost knocked me to the floor.
My cat had peed into the case when I was out of the room.

    The cat is now deceased.

I would recommend Nu-Line Guns. They have been a winchester warranty station since 1964. They have probably worked on more 101's than anyone else in the country. The last job I sent them for rebluing was $195.00 plus shipping. You may have extra charges if that mean old vacuum put pits in the barrel. Mike

Wright's Gunsmithing in Pickneyville, IL does RUST and HOT TANK bluing, best I've ever seen. He did my 31 Remingtons & about to ship him a Perazzi Mirage for some receiver bluing.

Yep--Same guy that makes choke tubes.

Who cares, its a good story. Guns still shoots straight doesn't it? Guns that are tore back have character and its twice as funny when you out shoot the guy with his perfect 10,000 dollar gun.
