Why so many spare parts etc. available for K80

We sure do see a lot of barrels, and stocks available for K-80's and P-guns for that matter. The numbers seem disproportional to the number of K guns I see on the line. Why is this? Do the K gun owners try to sell off a portion of their combo to get back some extra cash... or do they try to change stocks for higher scores? Why would one sell off a barrel set? Did they buy the wrong length initially? Just curious. It seems like their parts get traded more than baseball cards.

Seems to be just as much of that going on with
Perazzis. My guess is that people just like to try new things without buying/selling/trading entire guns.

Both the Kguns and the Pguns are like the "Swiss Army Knives" of the target shoots world. Perazzi, even more so than Kguns. Danielle Perazzi wanted his guns to have "interchangability" built right in. He set the pace for many manufacturers of modern clay target tournament shotguns.

It is because of the interchangeably of these guns. Most of those parts started out as complete guns. They then were parted out, and sold separately. Tend to get more for the parts separately, then the whole gun together, although more work and time to sell. As mentioned, it is not only K guns.

    Barry's right!

Second many used guns out there since the mx-8 has been around for almost 50 years; K-80 35 years and longer than the Perazzi if you count its predicessor the M-32. Many of these guns started out as trap guns and have changed hands and sports to sporting or skeet guns.

It's not a negative it's a positive that they are such enduring platforms and as versitle as they are.

Yeah, they've been around for a while but you'd think if one has bought the Cadillac or Porsche, they wouldn't be plucking out the engine and putting a different one in etc.

The Winchester Model 12 has been around for quite some time too.. nearly 2,000,000 made, at least according to Wiki, yet I hardly see any parts being parted out for this classic.

Like Ollie says.. It must be because they can.. not because they need to.

It seems rare to find a K combo or P combo with matching numbers.

Nothing wrong with the old model 12 ... But break something on the line and off you go to get your spare out of the trunk. Perazzi is more like a Ferrari or modern fuel dragster engines. You can fix them quick and get back on the line.

May I ask why you carry a spare tire in you auto, you may never need it but if you do its a great thing to have, IMO Ronnie

When they break you need parts, but sometimes when they break nothing can fix it, that is a major breakdown, actually Blow Ups are the hardest to repair or get parts for.
