Why wouldn't I want to buy a(nother) GM car. The one I currently have has only broken a front spring (~ $900 total after all the other associated things needed to make the repair), replaced three hub bearings and been warned that the fourth one is going to need replacement, has wiper blade arms that will lift right off the windshield at highway speeds, has a radio that is a great noisemaker but doesn't get very many stations, and now, to replace a 50 cent piece of plastic that will slide right on and off the shaft it encircles will only cost just shy of $70.00 (before tax, s&h and installation (about a five minute job that would cost close to $50.00 labor) at the dealership.

Now tell me, with a chance to provide a one person "stimulus package" to the GM auto makers just with this one car in one year, why wouldn't I want to get another GM??? I bet if I did, I could easily provide a couple thousand dollar stimulus to them in another year.

Now can someone please tell me why I wouldn't want to buy GM again???

I wouldn't buy one becasue the UAW stopped Marines from a reserve unit in Detroit from parking in their lot...partially because these warriors returning from Iraq had Bush stickers on their cars. I don't care that they reversed course; it ensured that I never give another dime to a UAW pocket; except by government siezure which I am dealing with right now. As a former Marine that incident made me despise the UAW, and I now realize it is essentially a legalized mafioso anyway.

Can you possibly imagine going thru a Gov't beaurocracy to have warranty work done on your car. I'm sure they would have to set up a brand new one to handle that.

Yes Maltzahn you are right on. GM will never be able to get back up again until the UAW is gone and then maybe they can get back to building a quality car.

Because GM is now run by Obama. I wouldn't give that pig one more dime than I am forced to.

The last two GM trucks I owned both Chevy's got well over 100,000 before any major maintenance work was required. I have no problem with that kind of service, you maintain them, regular oil changes, trans fluid changed ,air and oil filters when needed. And drive it like you have a brain and they last real well. I just bought another, a new GMC this time. I'll never buy any Jap vehicle, or any that I know to be made outside the US with a domestic name. As I told Brian in Oregon, I checked to see that My GMC was assembled here in the us(Ft. Wayne In.) before I bought it. I will not buy foreign in anything given a choice. I believe in the old saying "Charity begins at home."

I hate Obamas so called policy (Socialism) and the UAW has raped the auto industry. I do not agree with either, but I am an American and I want to feel like one by supporting her industries. J,Woolsey

Wouldn't be surprised if they do it while hussein is out of the country,,,,that way he can claim that HE DIDN'T KNOW!!!!!

Gee goose, I would hope with the oldest car in "are" fleet being 2 yrs. old, that there wouldn't be any serious problems. Let us all know when they approach 4 or 5 yrs. of age how well things are going with them. I happen to own a 2004 Chevy Trailblazer that I bought brand new, been in for a gas cap change/fix once, and a broken rear sway bar link. There's good ones and bad ones in every brand, just some are a lot more expensive to fix than others.

OK, here's my take from working in dealerships for the last 28 years (not currently). EVERY TIME there is a downturn in the economy, domestic brand quality goes up. I mean WAY UP! Then, as soon as things start to turn around, they start making cuts. I MEAN BIG CUTS! They do WHATEVER they think that thay can get away with and still sell the piece of crap, all for the sake of profits, until we consumers are left with nothing but JUNK! They've done countless times and I think that they may do it again.

It sucks that this is what the American way has become, but it's the truth. The American dream has turned into "who can I sue so that I can ride the gravy train", OR "what crutch can I claim to get a free ride".

I really do hope that I am wrong, but I think that our auto industry is doomed. It sure would be good for our industrious soul to see these abandon factories once again thrive (in Michigan, we've seen better times...you can only whistle past the cemetery for so long until it begins to effect you).

I have 2 BMW's a Toyota Land-cruiser a Mitsubishi a Buick and a Camaro SS I have not had a problem with any of them. I do admit that there was a time the big 3 made some cheap quality cars. That is not the case today most of their cars are vastly improved but it may be the case of too little too late. The Japanese experience was so good most people will not be open minded to look at other opportunities. Customer loyalty in Japanese companies is a major priority for them and they use that as a wedge for allocation of cars so American dealers are forced to make it a priority which it should be to increase profits for both parties. The American companies are also trying to do this now but it is hard to get satisfied customers to change. I do offer this challenge I drove the new Pontiac G8 on sale for 28 grand it is a wonderful car. I tried to find another car close in quality and performance and only found one a Hyundai Genius at 38 grand. If you know of any other car that is in this cars league for the money I would like to know about it. It is a world car engine made in Mexico trans in America assembled in Australia but the money stays in the USA not Japan. Go drive a G8 and then well see what is better for the money it is a 4 door sedan family car.
